Emergency Contraception: The Morning-After Pill

Morning After Pill

Emergency contraception, also known as the morning-after pill, is a form of birth control taken after unprotected sex to prevent pregnancy potentially. It is important to obtain accurate information and seek medical advice before taking any form of emergency contraception.

Two common brands of emergency contraception are Plan B One-Step and ella. It is important to note that these drugs may not be effective if you are already pregnant from a previous sexual encounter. Purchasing emergency contraception online is not recommended, and it is safer to seek advice from a healthcare professional.

 Plan B One-Step

Plan B One-Step is a type of emergency contraception that contains a high dose of hormones. Some common side effects include heavy periods, nausea, abdominal pain, fatigue, headaches, dizziness, and breast tenderness. It may cause a rapid return of fertility and has a failure rate of up to 39%, depending on when it is taken.

Ella

ella is another form of emergency contraception that works similarly to the abortion pill, RU-486. It is important to be aware of the limited information available regarding its safety, particularly for women under 18, over 35, taking hormonal contraception, pregnant, breastfeeding, or who have not started their menstrual cycle. It may reduce the chance of pregnancy but may become less effective if taken with hormonal contraceptives.

The decision to use emergency contraception should be taken seriously and after seeking medical advice. Free and confidential support is available to answer any questions and address concerns.
